CUPE 3287 Spring Members’ Meeting & End-of-Term Party

Meeting at 4:00, with party to follow until 7:30
Please join your fellow sessional lecturers to hear what the local has been up to and to make your voice heard; stay (or drop in) for free snacks and drinks to celebrate the end of the Winter term.
Our collective agreement with the University expires on August 31, 2019. Accordingly, at the meeting we will be electing our Bargaining Committee for the upcoming negotiations (see below) and having an initial discussion of bargaining proposals to be presented in those negotiations. In other words, for members, and especially new members, who want to have their voices heard in the collective bargaining process, this is an especially important meeting to attend.
The full agenda for the meeting will be distributed soon. However, items to be considered at the meeting will include:
- Election of members of the Bargaining Committee. (Up to four members may be elected. Members of the Committee receive an honorarium of $50.00 for each bargaining meeting attended.)
- By-elections for up to two Members at Large. (MALs serve on the Executive Board of the union, which meets at least eight times per year, and receive an honorarium of $75.00 per month.)
- Discussion of bargaining proposals for upcoming negotiations.
N.B.: If you would like to nominate yourself either for membership on the Bargaining Committee or for Member at Large, but will be unable to attend the meeting, please indicate your consent to be nominated to the Recording Secretary (secretary.cupe3287@gmail.com) by March 22, 2019.
